IFA 2011: Sony’s Playstation TV has A Rival!

The Playstation 3D TV from Sony has its first rival now, and it is called the LG LW980T. There are going to be two sizes (47″ and 55″) available for the consumers to choose from when the LW980T is released into the market later this month. What this model is equipped with in order to give the Playstation TV a shudder is the same technology which allows two players sitting in front of the same television set to view two completely independent three dimensional images of the game that they are playing. In addition to the Dual Play feature it is also a lot bigger and more equipped than Sony’s hallmark gaming TV. Highlights among these features are the enhanced Smart TV apps and the Nano Full LED technology working behind the giant screens.

However, you will have to be ready to accept the fact that it also will cost you a lot more than its smaller competitor as the 47″ model is priced at around £1799 while the 55″ model will set you back by £2499. You will also have to buy the Dual Play 3D Glasses separately as they are not included in the package at the moment (you will get seven pairs of Cinema 3D glasses though). If the total cost is making you think, then you should also consider the fact that the game demo, with the help of which LG displayed the LW980T’s Dual Play capabilities was being played on an Xbox 360, which means that you would always be able to enjoy the feature, whether you own an Xbox 360 or a PS3.
